What does The Teehive do?

We design and decorate custom apparel for teams, businesses, and events. Methods include Screen Printing, Embroidery, Cut & Sew Dye Sublimation, Direct-to-Film (DTF), Laser Engraving, Leather Patches, and Dye-Sub Patches — all decorated in the USA.

What are the minimum order quantities?

At The Teehive, we keep our minimums low so you can get custom gear without over-ordering. Minimums vary by decoration method:

  • Screen Printing: 12+ pieces per design
  • Embroidery: 6+ pieces per logo
  • DTF / Laser Transfers: 6+ pieces (no strict minimums — perfect for small runs or samples)
  • Hats (Patch Programs): 12+ pieces
  • Dye Sublimation: 6+ pieces

How does bulk pricing work?

At The Teehive, the more you order, the more you save. Our pricing is based on quantity tiers, so your cost per item goes down as your order size goes up. Each decoration method—whether it’s Direct-to-Film (DTF), Screen Printing (1-color, 2-color, 3-color, etc.), or Embroidery—has its own breakpoints.

 

This means a small run might be perfect for a test order, while larger orders unlock deeper discounts. For exact tier pricing, check our catalog or request a custom quote—we’ll make sure you’re getting the best value for your project.

Do you offer specials or package deals?

Absolutely! We love helping teams, businesses, and events get the best bang for their buck. Throughout the year, The Teehive runs featured promotions such as “100 Custom T-Shirts for $5 each” or “36 Custom Patch Hats for $14 each.”

 

Our specials rotate seasonally and often tie into popular ordering times—like back-to-school, holiday gifting, or team sports seasons. You’ll always find fresh ways to save whether you’re outfitting a small group or gearing up for a large event.

Do you charge art fees?

 For most orders, artwork setup is included at no extra cost. However, art fees may apply in the following situations:

  • Logo Creation: If you need a brand-new logo or design built from scratch.
  • Extensive Revisions: If a design requires multiple rounds of edits beyond the initial proof.
  • Very Small Orders (≤6 pieces): Because setup costs are spread over fewer items, an art fee may be quoted by your rep. 

Your sales rep will always let you know in advance if an art fee applies, and you’ll receive a clear quote before any work begins.

Do you decorate customer supplied garments?

No.  We’re not able to decorate on customer-supplied garments. This helps us make sure every order meets our quality standards—because we know exactly how our own products will hold up during printing and embroidery. Since customer-supplied items can vary in fabric, quality, and durability, using our products ensures your order turns out great and lasts.

Which decoration placements are approved?

 We support front, back, left chest, right chest, sleeves, legs and other standard placements. Wrap-arounds, seams, and zippers are generally not approved. See our Placement Guide for approved/not approved positions.

How do I choose colors?

You can submit Pantone Solid Coated numbers or use our vendor swatches for Screen Print, Embroidery, Heat Press Vinyl, Glitter, or Leather Patches. (Swatches available in the catalog.)

What artwork file formats do you accept?

 Vector files (AI, PDF, SVG) with fonts outlined are preferred. Raster (PNG, PSD, TIFF) must be 300 DPI at final print size. Keep artwork at least 0.5″ from seams/edges.

What is the standard turnaround time

Lead times start after proof approval and deposit (if required):

  • Screen Print: 2+ weeks
  • Embroidery: 3+ weeks
  • DTF: 2+ weeks
  • Dye Sublimation: 3+ weeks

Laser Engraving: 2+ weeks
 Shipping time is additional.

Do you offer rush service?

Yes, capacity-permitting:

  • 5–7 business days: +20%
  • 3–4 business days: +35%
  • 1–2 business days: custom quote

Do you ship to P.O. boxes?

Yes, via USPS. UPS requires a street address.

Does The Teehive would a shipping/billing address for the order?

The Teehive will always need an updated shipping address for the order. Please specify with your sales rep or when ordering online where you would like your order shipped too.

Do I need to approve my proof?

Yes. We do not proceed until you approve the final proof in writing. Payment is not approval.

What happens if I request changes after approval?

Changes may require a new proof and reset your timeline. If production has started, change fees may apply.

What payment methods do you accept?

All major credit cards, checks, cash, PayPal, Apple Pay, and more.

Do you accept tax-exempt orders?

Yes — provide your exemption certificate before invoicing. We cannot refund tax after payment without documentation.

Do you allow terms for a customer? Example: Net 30

We do allow Net30 terms with approval. There may be certain limits to the amount of credit a customer is given.

Can I get a sample before I order?

Yes. We offer sample garments, sizing kits, and showroom try-ons. Ask your rep.
